characters in search of science
July 10, 2007working with a local school to produce learning materials that were based on creative interpretation of the science curriculum. this project involved the children inventing a character with powers based on knowledge of the properties of materials and inventing narratives based on what would happen when their character met another. This enabled them to visualize concepts and create dialogues between abstract properties. I believe there are may educational advantages to children drawing ideas rather than focusing solely on their ability to verbalize.
